Glacier Country, MT.
Glacier Country is a term for Northwest Montana, the subject of this page, It takes its name from the abundance of glaciers and especially the park itself which lies close by. But this page does not document Glacier Park, but rather the people and places around it. The towns which live in this very seasonal part of the country.
Whitefish, a key town at the gateway to Glacier Park is a key northern route for trains, you'll find this out if you walk right outside the downtown and see yourself surronded by track. The track helped bring thousands to this land and see the beauty of the area.
A little more south of the tracks of Whitefish is Big Fork, a small town which is built upon one of the largest lakes in America, Flathead Lake. Big Fork is much a western in our modern century, a old downtown perfect for a gunslinger yet instead has SUVs parked along it instead of a horse. You can easily see this western theme in the buildings and location.
